The challenge: Manual payroll processes

As they began to expand their international network of psychologists and staff, Intellect was forced to confront their overreliance on manual HR and payroll processes.

As it stood, the HR team had to personally calculate critical payroll components, such as overtime and public holiday payments, and manually enter them into the system. This approach created severe visibility gaps and introduced the risk of wrong calculations and compliance errors. It also meant the team lacked a centralized source of truth for technical, legal, payroll, and compliance matters.

The use of these manual systems resulted in a severe drain on time and operational speed. Processing just one employee manually was highly inefficient, taking the team anywhere from two days up to one week to complete.

With a lean People Operations team of only three members, spending time manually processing payroll and compliance across borders was simply overwhelming. Worse, it was distracting them from their mission to onboard talent.

Simply put, Intellect’s pre-existing setup didn’t match its ambition to expand its global footprint accurately and rapidly. In order to spend less time manually processing payroll, they needed a unified solution that could eliminate manual bottlenecks.

Previously, the manual processing of payroll and compliance for a fixed-term employee could take anywhere up to a full week. With Multiplier automating these processes, the timeline was reduced to a maximum of two days.

The timesheet feature entirely eliminated the need for HR to manually calculate public holiday payments or overtime. Now, calculations are no longer hidden in manual spreadsheets.
