How to run payroll in the UK

Step 1: Start here

Click on “Hire & onboard” to begin onboarding employees and setting up payroll in compliance with UK employment laws.

Step 2: Import employee details

Select “Direct employee” and add employee information including basic details, salary details, and benefits. Use the bulk onboarding feature or integrate with your HRMS for efficiency.

Step 3: Customize payroll

Go to “Settings” > “Company settings” to define payroll cut-off dates, pay dates, and statutory pay components such as allowances and commissions.

Step 4: View summary

Click on the “Payroll” tab to view the Payroll dashboard and select your UK entity to review a consolidated summary of payroll across your UK employees.

Step 5: Confirm payroll

Select “Confirm payroll” after reviewing pay calculations, including tax deductions, benefits, and UK-specific contributions.

Generate payroll reports upon submission. The dashboard updates with processed payroll details, ensuring compliance.

Step 7: Access reports and publish payslips

View and download payroll reports, statutory tax filings, and variance reports. If any issues arise, reach out to your CSM. When ready, publish payslips, which can be integrated with your HRMS and accessed via employee self-service portals.
