FAQs

What is NRE payroll?

A payroll model that lets you pay employees who live and work in a country where you don’t have a legal entity, while staying compliant with local labor, tax, and social security rules.

How is NRE payroll different from EOR?

With NRE payroll, you remain the employer (subject to local requirements). With EOR, Multiplier (or a partner) becomes the legal employer. Many clients use NRE where feasible and EOR where required.

How is NRE payroll different from expat payroll?

Expat payroll covers secondments/assignments and often involves split-payroll and home-country ties. NRE payroll is for employees already living/working in the host country without a formal assignment.

Do I still need a local entity?

Not necessarily. In many countries, NRE payroll allows compliant payment without entity setup. We’ll assess your case, including any registrations needed.

Who handles taxes and social contributions?

Multiplier configures statutory withholdings and contributions per country and supports employer obligations and filings where applicable—keeping you audit-ready.

How do you manage FX and volatility?

We offer competitive rates and optional hedging to protect take-home pay and budgets when paying in local currencies.

Can I move someone from contractor/EOR to NRE payroll?

Yes. We’ll help evaluate status, transition paperwork, and payroll setup to minimize risk and disruption.

How fast can we go live?

Typical timelines depend on the country and any required registrations. We prioritize parallel onboarding so you can run your first NRE payroll quickly.
