Work permit

What is a work permit document?

A work permit is a legal document that allows foreign nationals to work in a specific country for a period of time. They are subject to the rules and requirements of each issuing country but generally require that applicants provide documentation such as a job offer letter and proof of qualifications.

Work permits differ from work visas in that they are used to authorize an individual to work in a country for a shorter period of time. While work visas may cover a broader scope of employment, work permits are often tied to the duration of a particular employment contract or assignment.

It’s important for both employers and employees to stay informed about the specific requirements and regulations surrounding work permits. Any deviations can cause legal consequences including deportation and future restrictions on entering the country.

To streamline the process of getting work permits granted, it’s best to seek the support of a global Employer of Record (EOR) solution such as Multiplier. Streamlining the process of obtaining work permits, this enables employees to get hired in a particular country without employers needing to go through the process of setting up a legal entity.
